Cobh Library Commemorates the Titanic Centenary
As part of 2012's Titanic centenary commemorations this April, Cobh Library launched a design a library card competition in which we invited both adults and children to create an image that they felt best represented the theme Cobh and the Titanic 2012. The finalists in the junior category were Sarah Butler, Cormac O'Mahony and Zita O'Dwyer, with Tarek Sallabi, Daniel Keaney & Malwin Kupidura in the adult category. Each of the designs have been mounted and are currently on display; the winning library cards have been made into special limited edition library cards that will be available exclusively from Cobh Library throughout the centenary year. The Canon Sheehan Short Story Award at Cork County Library and Arts Service
Cork County Library and Arts Service seeks new writing talent. To mark the centenary celebrations of North Cork writer, Canon Patrick Sheehan, Cork County Library and Arts Service has launched The Canon Sheehan Short Story Award for secondary school students. Cork County Library will select the best ten entries to be published on the County Library website and the overall winning story will be published in the Mallow Field Club Journal in November 2012. Events at Clonakilty Library
The Knitting Group meets every Friday morning at 11.00am, to share tips and ideas over a cuppa. New members are always welcome. The Book Club continues to meet on the last Tuesday of every month, at noon to discuss their latest reads. The Library Creative Writing Group is in full swing every second Thursday, to inspire and offer constructive feedback to any budding writers who might like to come along and join in – further information at www.corkcoco.ie/library.
Bandon Library Knitting Circle

Cork County Library Knitting Circle
