The new Student Grant Scheme for 2011/2012 has just been published.  Visit www.studentfinance.ie for full information about the scheme, guidance on how to apply, and to access the necessary forms, including application form and course acceptance forms.

The Higher Education Grants section of Cork County Council employs a staff of six. Its main purpose is the processing, awarding and payment of higher education grants. The key driver of this process is the Higher Education Grants Scheme, which is published annually by the Department of Education. The Scheme incorporates current rules and regulations, the official application form and the supporting notes.

Cork County Council staff assists applicants in preparing their applications in several ways, including promoting public awareness of the availability of application forms through the local media, and informing prospective applicants on how to apply.

The process requires checking the eligibility of applicants, which may involve contacting the Department of Social and Family Affairs and the Revenue Commissioners with the applicant's agreement.

You can order your P21 from the Revenue Commissioners online : www.revenue.ie

Further information on the Higher Education Grant Scheme is available on www.studentfinance.ie
