The Wastewater Discharge (Authorisation) Regulations 2007 (S.I. 684 of 2007) came into operation in October 2007.
The purpose of these regulations is to regulate discharges from Local Authority Wastewater Treatment Plants and Agglomerations.
The EPA is the competent authority for the licensing of Wastewater Treatment Plants and Agglomerations serving greater than 500 P.E.
All agglomerations < 500 PE will be subject to the Certificate of Authorisation.
