Cork County Council is the Official Irish Partner of an International Trade Partnership event known as Futurallia. Visit Futurallia 2006
Cork County Council, who have been involved in organising business missions for the past number of years, recognising potential economic benefits of Futurallia Business Forum for Cork based business, signed up as the Official Irish Partner for Futurallia in Ireland.
Futurallia 2005 event held in Louvain Belgium involved 20 Cork based companies and up to 1000 from numerous countries throughout the world.
The Forum operates on the basis of prearranged business meetings between companies that have expressed an interest in meeting with specific companies and sectoral interests.
This initiative is being spearheaded by The Economic Development Department, Cork County Council, in partnership with Cork City Council, South Cork Enterprise Board, West Cork Enterprise Board and Cork City Enterprise Board who collectively invested considerable resources by way of subsidies for participating companies. The feedback from the participating companies has been very encouraging and there will be ongoing analysis of successful business contacts.
The Forum also provided us with an opportunity of marketing the Cork Region as an economic, cultural and tourist destination, by way of a fully dedicated "Cork" stand, that was manned by our officials and those of our partners during the course of the event.
Next year's event will be held in Wroclaw, Poland from 31st May - 2nd June 2006 and it is hoped that at least 30 Cork based companies will participate.
