Local Agenda 21 Environment Fund Projects 2009
The Council was very pleased with the response this year with 50 applications received.
Recommendations are with the Minister for Environment, & Local Government. A national announcement is expected shortly.
ECOHOMES Programme
The EARU is currently launching an eco homes programme with 20 households in Coolagown North Cork. The aim of this programme is to reduce green waste and food waste from householders residual bins. The project will run from January 2009 until MArch 2010.
'Green Homes programme' what is it ?
The programme aims to support and direct you as a householder as you try to bring down your waste and fuel bills by putting certain actions into place. By carrying out these actions, you will also reduce the amount of CO2 emissions going into the atmosphere which is contributing to Climate Change.
