Motor Tax Online

Motor Tax Online is a secure service provided by Ireland's Local Authorities and the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government for private vehicles.

You will require:

• a PIN (Personal Idendification Number) which you will find on your tax renewal form (RF100B). This is the only source of the PIN number which for security reasons cannot be issued over the telephone or by email.

• Your motor Insurance details.

• A credit card or laser card

If you have recently changed ownership of your vehicle, or have surrendered your vehicle to an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) for destruction, you can check the current status of the vehicle by entering your vehicle registration number in the box provided and submitting your status enquiry. Please note where a vehicle is sold to a dealer, no VRC will be issued in respect of this transaction.
