There are approximately 1400 groups registered with the Community & Voluntary Forum. Elections are held every two and a half years and there are two representatives from each of Cork County’s 10 electoral areas on the Forum. All Forum members vote as an organisation to elect members on the countywide steering group: Cork County Community & Voluntary Forum. Representatives are then elected to various county wide policy groups such as Cork County Council Strategic Policy Committees.
Registered Groups can also avail of insurance that is tailored specifically to the needs of the community & voluntary sector with BHP Insurances All Forum Members are eligible to apply for a Community Grant, Cork County Council.
The Irish National Community & Voluntary Forum is the National Umbrella Organisation.
