    Craobh Niall Ó Cathasaigh, Baile an Chollaigh - Set and Céilí Dancing

     

    Classes are held every Monday night from 9 to 11pmin Ballincollig GAA Pavilion, while Sean Nós Dancingclasses continue at The White Horse, Ballincollig each Tuesday night. All are asked to gather at 7:50 pm for an 8pm start. First half concentrates on beginners with improvers welcome and the second half of the night is for improvers with beginners welome to join in.     Swing Dance News

      

    DJ Gary's Sunday gig in Bar Pigalle on Barrack's St. from 9.30pm to 11.30pm; DJ Fiasco weekly gig in the Cork Opera House on Saturday nights from 11pm to 1pm, called Jump n' Jive. The music is a mix of authentic American music from the 1930's to 1960's;  Swing Dance Classes:  Currently taking place at Cork Dance Studio on Wednesdays; Lindy Hop and then some (7.30-8.30pm) This class is aimed at those that want to take their Lindy Hop to the next level. Participants will need to be able to do the swing out, the Lindy turn (also known as the Lindy basic) and the Lindy circle; Beginners Lindy Hop (8.30-9.30pm) This class covers the fundamental steps and patterns of Lindy Hop; Beginners East Coast Swing (8.30-9.30pm) This class is aimed at those completely new to swing dancing and also at more experienced leads who wish to improve their six count repertoire of moves; Social Dancing follows classes from 9.30-11pm.; May 25th-27th - Bing Kong Presents: Blues Workshop featuring Chris Härm and more; Care to Dance? A night of sociable dancing for sociable people. 26th May 8-11pm at the Camden Palace Hotel. Featuring the Inner City Blues Band , DJ Gary Baus plus guest DJs; The Joint is Jumpin’ every second Tuesday at 32 Marlboro St - Hit the floor with DJ Gary Baus for a stompin’ night of swing music and dancing.
