    Cork County Council Arts Office FAS Work Placement Programme

     

    Cork County Council iArts Office currently seeking applicants for two positions available under the FAS Work Placement Programme, to help implement the countywide youth arts programme. Participants will gain experience in all aspects of arts administration from working with schools, to local community based arts programmes.  The placements would benefit persons with a level 7 qualification in any arts discipline or related area and may be of particular interest to persons with arts administration qualifications.     Residency Award @ the Guesthouse

    The Guesthouse in Cork is offering a three month Residency Award of €3,000 that aims to support an artist or collaborative group based in Ireland to develop a body of work, project, exhibition or series of events at The Guesthouse in 2011. Applicants are welcome to visit The Guesthouse before the submission deadline to develop research for proposals.      Visual Artists Ireland Seeks Admin / Membership Intern

    Visual Artists Ireland seeks an intern to assist with the day-to-day administrative duties, membership management and account responsibilities of the organisation. This internship will involve hands on experience assisting with the day-to-day organisation of Visual Artists Ireland during January and February 2011 working alongside the Membership Officer, Office Manager and Accounts Officer.     SARC Artwork Commission

    The Sexual Assault Referral Centre, located within the Antrim Area Hospital grounds  presents an opportunity for an experienced artist, specialising in glass or other medium suitable for a window design.  A glass work/or other medium suitable for a window design to be incorporated down the corridor spine of the new SARC building, to commence March 2011 and to be completed by August 2011. A fee of up to £10,000 will be paid to the successful applicant upon completion and installation of the artwork. This fee will cover all design, materials, manufacturing and appropriate installation costs necessary to create the work.     Cork International Choral Festival seeks Festival Administrator (6 month contract)

     

    The Cork International Choral Festival invites applications for the position of Festival Administrator. The administrator works directly with the Festival Manager and will undertake designated office administration tasks, including the organisational and logistical work relating to the running of a Festival.     Athlone Art and Heritage Ltd seeks Arts and Heritage Manager

     

    Athlone Art & Heritage Ltd. invites applications for the position of Arts & Heritage Manager initially for a period of 3 years.The Company was established by Athlone Town Council and the role of the Manager will be to manage, operate and promote art, heritage and tourism facilities such as the Athlone Art Gallery and the Castle Visitor Centre.     Seán Ó Riada Composition Competition 2011

     

    Cork International Choral Festival together with the National Chamber Choir of Ireland announces the Seán Ó Riada composition competition in 2011.

    This composition competition invites the submission of new works from established and emerging composers, born or resident in Ireland.  The winning composition will be selected by a panel, comprising composers and choral experts, and will become a featured work at the Seminar for New Choral Music (artists in residence – The National Chamber Choir of Ireland).  It will receive its premiere performance during the Festival at a Gala Concert given by the National Chamber Choir of Ireland, conducted by Paul Hillier, on Friday 29th April.  The composer of the work will be invited to attend the festival as its guest and play an active part in the Seminar session.  Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 14th January, 2011 – further information at www.corkchoral.ie

     

    Call for applications Temple Bar Gallery and Studios Visual Art Curator and/or Art Writer’s Studio 2011

    Each year, Temple Bar Gallery and Studios allocates one of its project studios for specific and dedicated use by a visual art curator(s) and/or art writer(s) to support the research, planning and development of new creative projects in the subsequent year.  Applications are invited from curators and art critic/writer(s) who are actively engaged with contemporary visual art culture Ireland and internationally.  The Curator/Art Writer’s Studio is set-up to support independent curators and art writers in extending their enquiry and research into the contemporary visual art culture.  While welcoming projects that focus on an individual’s curatorial or art writing practice, collaborative or joint applications are also welcomed.  Similarly, proposals made on the basis of public projects, collaborative projects or education and community activity will also be considered. In 2011, the successful candidate will be presented with opportunities for travel and research and potential collaborations with the curatorial panel and programming team at Temple Bar Gallery and Studios. The Curator and/or Art Writer’s Studio will be awarded on a project basis for 1 year.  Applications will be assessed on the basis of a specific proposal(s) that should be accompanied by an outline work plan for the use of the studio.  The successful candidate must be available to take-up the offer of the Project Studio from 1st April 2011.
