- Tuesday-Saturday, inclusive - 10am-6pm.
- Closed on Saturdays of bank holiday weekends.
Clonakilty Library offers a wide range of books for adults, children and teenagers. There are also books on tape and C.D. and a selection of DVDs available for borrowing.
There is a general reference collection including encyclopaedias, dictionaries and local studies material.
A variety of newspapers and magazines can be read in the library. These include the Irish Examiner, Irish Independent, Irish Times and the Southern Star.
Internet Access is available on 4 PCs. Advance booking for this service is advisable. A valid library card must be presented for internet access.
Events
Book Club
A book club for adults is held on the last Tuesday of every month at 12 noon. All are welcome. Books for the meeting are available at the library.
Creative Writers Group
The Creative Writing Group meets fortnightly on Thursday mornings from 11:00am to 1:00pm. New members are very welcome.
Children's Story Hour
Stories, songs and rhymes for children.
Storytime takes place on some Saturday mornings from September to April. Contact the library for specific dates.
Other events take place during the year including the Bealtaine Festival in May, the Summer Arts Programme for children in July and August, and the Children's Book Festival in October.
Requests for class visits can be scheduled by contacting the librarian.
