A town of 4,184 inhabitants located 19km south of Cork City. It is accessed by Regional Route R610. The town lies within the Cork Area Strategic Plan boundary. It has an elected town council with 9 members which is currently chaired by Cllr. Dominick Donnelly.
34,475 m of fibre optic cable will be laid under the CCRB project in the Carrigaline Passage West Ringaskiddy loop.
