A town of 2,000 inhabitants located 89km west of Cork City and is a 80 minute drive from Cork City and Cork International Airport. It is accessed by the National Secondary Route N71. The town lies within the Cork North and West Strategic Plan boundary. It has an elected council of 9 members and is currently chaired by Cllr. Brendan McCarthy.
CONFIGURATION
A fibre duct route will be deployed along the four main routes out of the town totalling approximately 1,605m. This configuration will provide a ring of fibre between the Town Council building, the Eircom exchange and the main business locations at the centre of the town.
Redundancy can be offered through Wireless to the mast, which will also extend the reach of the proposed network. A collocation facility will be deployed approximately 50m from the Eircom exchange. 1,605 m of fibre optic cable will be laid under the CCRB project.
