Parks and Walkways

  • Parks and Walkways

Cork is the largest county in Ireland, and is also one of the most scenic. Its landscape consists of a rich farmlands and river valleys, along with a magnificent coastline with rocky headlands and many bays and coves. Cork County Council is committed to maintaining and preserving the natural heritage of County Cork. It achieves this through the provision and maintenance of parks, walkways and other recreational facilities.

Walking and hiking is a popular activity in County Cork. To help encourage this, Cork County Council provides an annual contribution to the Irish Sports Council to help put in place marked walkways including the Beara Way and Sheep's Head Way.
