Welcome to the Cork County Non-Domestic Water Metering Website.
The aim of the site is to keep businesses and the public in Cork County informed on all aspects of the project rollout.
Local authorities throughout the country are required to meter all customers of non domestic water/wastewater by 1 January 2007 in accordance with the Government's National Water Pricing Framework.
The principal objectives of the Water Pricing Framework are:
- To ensure universal water metering throughout the non domestic sector.
- To recover the full operational cost of producing clean water and drainage of foul water from the non domestic sector in accordance with the Polluter Pays Principle
- To provide a sustainable system of water consumption measurement by the non domestic sector
- To ensure transparency and equitability in charging for water services.
