    Civil Defence Services are delivered by Cork County Council through Civil Defence Officers. These officers come from a voluntary civil defence organisation, comprising 290 volunteers. The main services provided by Civil Defence Officers are as follows:

    • First aid and ambulance service
    • Search and rescue
    • Radiation and monitoring
    • Radio communications
    • Fire fighting
    • Welfare provision
