Public Consultation

  • Waste management plans are statutory documents required under the Waste Management Act, and are the mechanism by which national waste management policy, objectives and targets are to be delivered locally.

The Cork County Council Waste Management Plan aims to:

    • Reflect the overall waste management philosophy of the local authority.
    • Outline the waste management objectives to be pursued.
    • Where appropriate, establish specific targets against which performance can be measured.
    • Set out a programme of action for the achievement of the objectives and delivery of integrated waste management facilities.

Cork County Council's Litter Management Plan was prepared in accordance the requirements of the Litter Pollution Act, 1997 and sets out the blueprint for litter management in Cork County going forward. The current plan was adopted on the 8 December 2003 and is due for review.
