Charcoal barbecues. Charcoal can reach extreme temperatures and stay hot for a long period of time. Do not leave barbecues unattended particularly where children and animals are present.
Charcoal barbecues should be placed securely on level ground. Never move a barbecue when in use.
Remember. Never use a charcoal barbecue indoors as it emits carbon monoxide gas while burning. This is a colourless, odourless and poisonous gas which can be fatal if inhaled.
Use a depth of no more than 50mm of charcoal as a base for your barbecue.
Do not pour flammable liquid on hot coals even though it looks as if the barbecue has gone out.
When disposing of your barbecue briquettes make sure that they are completely cool. Do not place hot coals in a rubbish container. |
