A town of 3,798 inhabitants located 27km east of Cork City and is a 15 minute drive from Cork City and a 25 minute drive from Cork International Airport. It is accessed from the National Primary Route N25 which is a strategic route linking Cork City to Waterford City. The town lies within the Cork Area Strategic Plan boundary. Work is currently underway on the reopening of the railway line and the town will be accessible by rail by 2008. The town has a Town Council with 9 elected members currently chaired by Cllr. Billy Buckley.
CONFIGURATION
A fibre duct route will be deployed from the mast at Midleton waterworks to the north of the town into the centre of the town totalling approximately 9,420m in length.
This configuration will provide a ring duct route between the waterworks, the Eircom exchange and the main business locations at the centre of the town. A collocation facility will be deployed approximately 170m from the Eircom exchange.
