Business Information

  • Traditional business information resources in the form of printed books and directories have been substantially superseded by Internet resources. Internet Facilities are freely available to registered library users at all of our branch libraries and at our HQ Reference Department.

Some basic business information sources can be consulted at branch libraries. These include current national telephone directories (available at all branch libraries), magazines such as Business and Finance and newspapers. Check your local branch profile for details of relevant magazines or newspapers that they may stock.

Businesspeople with overseas trade interests who wish to improve their foreign language skills can avail of our audio language tuition tapes. These can be made available for loan through our service points.

Irish statutes, or acts of parliament, and statutory instruments are available on the web sites www.irlgov.ie and www.irishstatutebook.ie. In addition, our HQ Reference Department holds specialist, up-to-date publications on topics such as planning law, such as Irish Planning and Law and Practice, O'Sullivan and Shepherd (comp), which is updated annually; and EU Law, such as EU Brief, compiled by Gregg Myles, also updated annually.

The County Library's specialist business information service is based at our Bantry branch library.
