Cork County Council seeks to safeguard the quality of the environment. It has the power to require the cessation of waste activities and the taking of remedial measures if environmental or litter pollution is deemed to have occurred. This involves the enforcement of legislation with respect to waste and litter.

In reporting incidents the Cork County Council will require the following infomation from the public
- time and date of the incident

- the registration details of any vehicles involved in the incident where available
