Mizen Head Footbridge scoops Irish Engineering Project of the Year 2011
The reconstructed Mizen Head footbridge connecting the country's southernmost lighthouse to the mainland has won the prestigious Engineers Ireland Engineering Project of the Year Award and also won Best Paper of the Year for a presentation given about the project.

Cork County Council joins Facebook
Cork County Council joined the world of Facebook on the 1st of February, and will be using it to help inform the people of Cork and beyond of news and events around the county.

Cork County Council Community Fund
Cork County Council has established a Euro1 million fund to support community projects and initiatives. Allocations from the fund will be made to Community groups, sporting organisations and local organisations who propose to undertake projects in their areas. The closing date for applications is 29th February 2012.
