IRONMAN Cork set to welcome one of the biggest stars of the sport

One of the most recognisable faces of triathlon and the holder of two Olympic Gold medals, Alistair Brownlee will make his full-distance IRONMAN debut at IRONMAN Cork in less than three weeks time in Youghal, County Cork.  The British athlete will join over 2,300 competitors from across the globe for Ireland’s first ever full IRONMAN which takes place on June 23rd.

Speaking at the announcement of Brownlee’s participation, Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Patrick Gerard Murphy highlighted how IRONMAN Cork is shining a global spotlight on East Cork,

Cork County Council bring Free Public Music Events to West Cork 

The County Council Municipal Districts of West Cork & Bandon-Kinsale are this weekend launching the fourth year of the Special Music Event Scheme, a community initiative which endeavours to bring the business and voluntary music communities together to promote their local town.  
Following on from three very successful years where an excellent standard of music was provided by the various Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann music groups and Brass and Pipe Bands, events this year will occur in various venues in and around Kinsale, Bandon, Bantry, Clonakilty, Dunmanway and Skibbereen.

Contract signing signal start of works for Charleville Playground

Contracts have today been signed which will signal the beginning of refurbishment works for Charleville Playground.

Cllr Ian Doyle, Deputising for the County Mayor, Mary Ryan, Director of Services for Municipal District Operations and Rural Development joined JJ Brown from Browne Brothers Site Services Ltd of Loughlee, Carrigadrohid, Co. Cork to mark the first step in these works.

Bandon Kinsale Municipal District Launches Council Paint Scheme

Bandon Kinsale Municipal District have launched the hugely popular Cork County Council Painting, Signage & Improvement Scheme for 2019. Tenants or owners of buildings have 4 streams of funding available to them, which cover costs of materials, labour and sign replacement. Applications are also available on a full street basis, which will prioritise works on 10 adjacent buildings on one street.
