Cork County Council Heritage Signage Workshop

Cork County Council’s Historic Monuments Advisory Committee (HMAC) sets out to provide advice and assistance in the preservation and protection of archaeological monuments in the County of Cork. The county is home to over 19,000 such archaeological monuments and there is often an interest at community level to erect a sign at these and similar locations, highlighting their heritage and value to the local community and visitors alike.

On Wednesday 19th October 2022, Cork County Council’s HMAC is hosting a workshop on signage at heritage sites. The workshop will offer an understanding of how best to interpret and disseminate information at a heritage site, also focussing on best practice, any legal requirements and available grants, followed by a Q&A session.

The event will be beneficial for any community groups or organisations interested in heritage signage locally, whether they have undertaken heritage signage before or starting out.

There is no charge for the event, however places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis. Confirm your interest by emailing corkheritage@corkcoco.ie before 5pm on Friday 14th October 2022.
