video by author Siobhán Ní Mhuimhneacháin about her new book 'An Gadaí Dubh'

Mar chuid dár gceiliúradh do Sheachtain na Gaeilge tá físeán speisialta againn le taispeáint daoibh ó scríbhneoir áitiúil den scoth, Siobhán Ní Mhuimhneacháin maidir lena leabhar nua 'An Gadaí Dubh'

Tá an físeán ar fáil ar ár gcainéal Youtube tríd an Nasc seo:

San fhíseán seo, labhraíonn Siobhán, múinteoir scoile & údar trí Ghaeilge faoina leabhar, 'An Gadaí Dubh'.

Tá an leabhar dírithe ar pháistí don aois 9-13, ach oiriúnach do chách. Tá 'An Gadaí Dubh' scríofa i nGaeilge agus cuireann sé ar a gcumas do pháistí a gcuid samhlaíocht a fhorbairt agus a gcuid Gaeilge a chleachtadh ag an am céanna. Tá 'An Gadaí Dubh' maisithe go gleoite ag ealaíontóir Kieron Black.

Tá baint áitiúil idir an scéal seo agus an scéal ársa ó pharóiste Bhaile Mhúirne i gContae Chorcaí faoi Naomh Gobnait agus an Gadaí Dubh mar sin is iontach an rud go bhfuil an leabhar seo ar fáil dúinn i gCorcaigh agus dár ndóigh ar fud na háite. Coimeádfar an seanscéal beo mar chuid den scéal iontach nua-aimseartha seo ó Shiobhán.

Táimid ana-bhuíoch do Shiobhán as an bhfíseán seo a dhéanamh dúinn agus tú súil againn go mbainigí taitneamh as.

As part of our celebration for Seachtain na Gaeilge we have a special video to show you from an excellent local writer, Siobhán Ní Mhuimhneacháin about her new book 'An Gadaí Dubh'

The video is available on our Youtube channel via this Link:

In this video, Siobhán, a local school teacher & author speaks through Irish about her book, 'An Gadaí Dubh'.

The book is aimed at children in the age group of 9-13, but is suitable to be enjoyed by everyone. 'An Gadaí Dubh' is written in Irish and enables children to develop their imagination and practice their Irish at the same time. It is beautifully illustrated by artist Kieron Black.

There is a local connection between this story and the ancient story from the parish of Ballyvourney in County Cork about St Gobnait and the Gadaí Dubh so it is great that this book is available to us, particularly in Cork. The old story will be kept alive and accessible as part of this wonderful modern story from Siobhán.

We are very grateful to Siobhán for making this video for us and we hope you enjoy it.
