He studied at the National College of Art and Design and was the founder of Mallow Arts Lab. He was also a founding director of the National Sculpture Factory and Triskel Arts Centre and is currently a Director of the Sirius Arts Centre.
The 2019 Mallow Arts Festival runs from Wednesday 24th July to Sunday 28th July and this year boasts over 40 Events for all ages and tastes to enjoy.
It crams in 5 entertaining days of live music performances, theatre, cinema, visual art, photography, crafts, poetry readings, workshops, exhibits and so much more around Mallow Town…
Saturday in particular is packed with Family orientated events which include puppet shows, digital scavenger hunts, clay & print workshops, as well as an excerpt from The Lion King with Centre Stage School presenting singing, dancing and acting in the Hibernian Hotel & Leisure Centre.
Along with the plethora of music events, shows and performances listed in the Festival Brochure, there’s also plenty of music and fun around the streets on Saturday with a busking competition sponsored by Mallow Credit Union, face-painting and a circus performance in the yard of St. Mary’s Church.
Festival Chairperson Tadhg Curtis says “the annual Mallow Arts Festival is an example of what can be achieved when a committee works together, coupled with tremendous support from over 80 local businesses and organisations which include Mallow Development Partnership, Cork County Council and Mallow Chamber of Commerce. The vast majority of events are free and this is only possible through this wonderful community support”.
