This World Oceans Day event is organised by Coastwatch and Cork Environmental Forum and follows the Marine Life June 7th field trip and event at Charles Fort Kinsale. Happening in Cork during SeaFest 2019 we welcome SEAFEST participants.
The emphasis in our events is on discovering the magic biodiversity of our shores, recording elements, especially indicator and keystone species in a way which can be used to protect and monitor it and enabling citizens to become ocean and official data literate.
Government has announced a climate change and biodiversity emergency. This calls for action. We will present both own action and recommendations for government to protect and restore biodiversity and avoid/tackle marine litter which we all contribute to.
