Cork North & West Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs Urged to Take Advantage of Local Enterprise Week 2020

The first week in March will see small businesses and budding entrepreneurs gather across the country for Local Enterprise Week 2020.  An initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices, thousands of attendees are expected at over 300 events across the country during the week aimed at supporting small businesses and fostering entrepreneurship.

Network Ireland Conference to Encourage Women to ‘Step-up’

Wild Atlantic Way location for major national conference 

More than 250 delegates will be attending the Network Ireland National Conference and Awards Ceremony on the 27th of September. Cork County Council is the main sponsor of the conference, which is the biggest of its kind in Ireland for professional women. 

Network Ireland is Ireland’s longest established and leading female focussed business network. The conference and awards, which will be hosted by Sonya Lennon, will take place at the Celtic Ross Hotel, West Cork.

Mayor Welcomes Study on Economic Infrastructure Needs 

Plans to review Cork County Council’s economic development activity, with the aim of maximising the positive impact of the Council’s actions, has been welcomed by the Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Patrick Gerard Murphy. The review aims to ensure that each town and its rural hinterland have the opportunity to develop to their full potential while having reference to the geographic spread of economic development around the County.

Great News for Mallow as Bridge Boardwalk plans announced 

Cork County Council today announced plans to develop a Boardwalk on the western wall of Mallow Bridge. The bridge, spanning the River Blackwater, is a recorded protected structure dating back to 1712 and is a major access route to Mallow Town Centre. The proposed Boardwalk development is estimated to cost in the region of €1.2 million and will be funded by the Council and an EU Designated Urban Centres grant worth €1 million.
