Bandon Kinsale Municipal District have launched the hugely popular Cork County Council Painting, Signage & Improvement Scheme for 2019. Tenants or owners of buildings have 4 streams of funding available to them, which cover costs of materials, labour and sign replacement. Applications are also available on a full street basis, which will prioritise works on 10 adjacent buildings on one street.
The scheme aims to promote regeneration and business growth in Bandon and Kinsale town centres and compliment other Cork County Council development initiatives, such as the €2 million upgrade to Kinsale Library which was awarded funding from the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund in 2018.
Mayor of the County of Cork Cllr. Patrick Gerard Murphy spoke highly of the scheme, stating that:
“One of our greatest amenities as a county is our picturesque towns and villages. The paint scheme has led to excellent results and iconic streetscapes throughout the county. I look forward to seeing the people and businesses of Bandon Kinsale working together with their Municipal District office to build upon the past success of this wonderful initiative.”
Deadline for the receipt of applications is Friday 7th of June.
