Cork County Council Supporting the Arts

Cork County Council’s 2022 funding opportunities in the Arts have been announced, including details of the Arts Grants Scheme through which applications for financial support can be made for a wide range of arts events and activities.

Commenting on the announcement, Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Gillian Coughlan, said “Every year, Cork County Council provides dedicated funding for the Arts, helping to support a great range of arts activity, such as festivals, performances, exhibitions and other publicly accessible cultural programming throughout the county. Our funding supports the activities of many voluntary arts organisations who ensure access for all is maintained across communities.”

Mayor Coughlan added, “We also aim to support opportunities for older persons or persons with a disability to enjoy positive, creative activity in their local settings. I encourage anyone who has ideas for really engaging, innovative arts events that would connect with the public to look at the funding opportunities available.”

In addition to the Arts Grants Scheme, there are special targeted funding strands such as support for developing arts projects through the Irish Language, a scheme to support artists working in schools and a set of bursary and residency opportunities for professional artists of all disciplines. These include funding for new work, to develop international opportunities or for reflection and development of new work

Applications for all schemes closes on Sunday, January 9th 2022.
