Cruinniú na nÓg on Saturday 15th June was a great success around the country and particularly here in the County of Cork. 35 events took place around the County and saw great attendances with young people participating in a whole range of different creative activities, from ceramics and painting to singing and craft. Cruinniú na nÓg, which is part of the Creative Ireland Programme, highlights the importance of culture and creativity for young people and it was great to see such interest and high levels of participation from young people – a credit to all who engaged in the day and the organisers who ran and hosted some terrific workshops and events, particularly the Library and Arts Service of Cork County Council.
