Tá ocht dtionscadal oidhreachta seandálaíochta tábhachtacha i gContae Chorcaí le breis is €420,000 a fháil ón Roinn Tithíochta, Rialtais Áitiúil agus Oidhreachta faoi Chiste na Séadchomharthaí Pobail 2024. Tá an ciste á riar go háitiúil ag Comhairle Contae Chorcaí, agus bunaíodh é in 2020 chun séadchomharthaí seandálaíochta agus láithreáin stairiúla áitiúla a chaomhnú, a chothabháil, a chosaint agus a chur chun cinn.

Over €400,000 for Archaeological Heritage Projects in Cork County

Eight important archaeological heritage projects in Cork County are set to receive over €420,000 from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under the 2024 Community Monuments Fund. Administered locally by Cork County Council, the fund was established in 2020 to conserve, maintain, protect, and promote local archaeological monuments and historic sites.

Cork County Secondary Schools Shine Bright at Film Festival Awards

Secondary schools from all over County Cork gathered at Fota Wildlife Park’s newly established Education, Conservation and Research Centre on 10th April 2024 for the regional ‘Rubbish Film Festival Awards’, an event dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability through the powerful medium of film.

Statement from Cork County Council on passing of Cllr Gerard Murphy RIP

It is with great sadness that we make this statement on the passing of Councillor Gerard Murphy RIP.  Cllr Murphy was one of the longest serving public representatives in Cork County Council and a lifelong community activist, most notably in his hometown of Newmarket.

Cork County Council Announces Circular Economy Fund to Combat Single Use Plastics

Cork County Council has launched a new Circular Economy Fund with the aim of empowering local action to drive a more circular economy. The fund aims to support communities to move away from the traditional linear ‘take-make-use-dispose’ model towards more circular living where resources are reused or recycled, reducing wastage.

Met Eireann Status Orange - Wind Warning Storm Kathleen

Cork County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team convened today following the issuing of a Met Éireann Status Orange Wind Warning for Cork.  The warning is in effect from 7.00am to 5.00pm Saturday April 6th.  Storm Kathleen is expected to bring gale force southerly winds, with some severe and damaging gusts.
