TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure
R626 – from 3 Crossroads near Ballyedmond Bridge, Midleton to Ballinterry Crossroads, Rathcormac, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 10.00hrs on Saturday 25th September 2021 to 19.00hrs on Sunday 26th September 2021 (Daily Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate 36th annual playing of King & Queen of the Roads (international road bowling tournament).

Alternative Routes
Travelling from Midleton divert off the R-626 at its Junction with the LP3601 at Ballyedmond Hill, detour via the LP3601 Castlelyons Road to Two Pot Cross and via L3600 to Leary’s Cross forward to the R628 to its junction with the R626 at Ballinterry Crossroads, Rathcormac.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-114-2021, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 8th September 2021.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

R-633-31 Ballymadog, Youghal, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 08:00hrs on Monday 18th October 2021 to 17:00hrs on Friday 22nd October 2021.
(24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate installation of cattle underpass.

Alternative Routes
From Ballymacoda heading for Youghal on the R633 at Ahavine Cross take the left onto L-3811-32, continue to T junction at Fanisk Bridge, take road to right for Gortroe along the L-7856-0.  In Gortroe village take the road to right and continue along road to T junction back on the R633.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

L-5251-0 via Railway Crossing at Gougane, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 10.00hrs on Tuesday 26th October 2021 to 15.00hrs on Sunday 31st October 2021.
(24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Railway Infrastructure Maintenance and Renewal.

Alternative Route
On the LP-1121-0 at Clonmeen North continue on the road to Banteer Village.  Turn left onto the R579-250 and continue to Father Murphy’s Bridge.  Turn left at Father Murphy’s Bridge onto the LS-5252-0 and continue on this route.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access up to the closure points on each side of the Railway will be maintained.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-117-2021, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 21st September 2021.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

R594-34 Caheragh Village, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 13:00hrs to 18:00hrs on Sunday 10th October, 2021 (one day only).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Caheragh Vintage Threshing.

Alternative Routes
From Bantry - divert east onto L-8737-0, L8280-0 and L-4233-0 to rejoin with R594. From Skibbereen - divert west onto L-8730, L-8731, L-8733 and L8734 to rejoin the R594.

Local Access will not be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-118-2021, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 22nd September, 2021.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
