ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L-32340-0, Short Quay, Kinsale, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure
From 08.00hrs on Monday, 1st November 2021 to 08.00hrs on Monday, 31st October 2022.
(24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate temporary pedestrianisation of streets to assist both with National Social Distancing Guidelines, the re-opening of businesses, while the overall objective is to create Pedestrian Priority Zones within the Town Centre thereby promoting a Safe Environment on our public streets that is mutually beneficial to both the Town’s people, visitors and businesses.

Alternative Routes
Short Quay – proceed via R-600 Emmet Place turning onto R-605-98 Pearce Street turning left onto L-3234-0 Market Street at the White House.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure for deliveries (07:00hrs to 10:00hrs) and those with special needs.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-121-2021, not later than 5.00pm on Friday 1st October 2021. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
