Temporary Closing of Public Roads

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L8558 (Part) Cloontiquirk and Darkwood, Dunmanway, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 08.00hrs on Monday 15th November 2021 to 18.00hrs on Friday 26th November 2021.  (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Installation of New Water main.

Alternative Routes
From the Darkwood Crossroads travel northwest along the L4609-45, turn left at first “T” junction onto the L8559 at Derrynasafagh, at next “T” junction turn left on to L8558.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure. 

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-125-2021, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday the 20th October 2021.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

L4609-77 (Part) Darkwood, Cloontiquirk and Dunmanway North, Dunmanway, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 08.00hrs on Monday 29th November 2021 to 18.00hrs on Wednesday 22nd December 2021.  (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Installation of a New Watermain.

Alternative Routes
From the Darkwood Crossroads travel southeast along the L4617-0 and keep right at Coorycullane “T” junction and continue down along Cat Lane/Mary Road onto Market Square (R586). Then turn right on to the L4609-77 Castle Street until Inch road junction at start works/road closure.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure. 

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-126-2021, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday the 20th October 2021.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 07:00hrs on Monday 22nd November 2021 to 07.00hrs on Friday 4th February 2022.  (24hr Closure).         

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate tunneling for foul sewer upgrade works.

Alternative Routes
Traffic can divert from the L9005-0 Lower Beecher Street via the N20 Beecher Street Roundabout onto the R930.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-127-2021, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 19th October 2021.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

From 07.00hrs on Monday 8th November 2021 to 19.00hrs on Saturday 13th November 2021.  (24hr Closure)

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road resurfacing.

Alternative Routes
Diversions via Bridge Street, L-4754 and Chapel Street L-4753 onto William Street.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure. 

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-122-2021, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday the 20th October 2021.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
