TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below: 

Road Subject of Proposed Closure
LP-1046 Kilbrin Village (Section of), Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 08.00hrs on Monday 20th June, 2022 to 18.00hrs on Friday 8th July, 2022.
(24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing.

Alternative Routes
In Kanturk Town continue on the R576 until its junction with the R580.  Travel on the R580 and continue onto the L-1049 at Sal’s Cross.  Turn left onto the L-5102 and continue until its junction with the L-1046 at Horgan’s Cross.  Turn left and continue into Kilbrin Village.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-75-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 24th May 2022.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

L-2763, Upper Cloghroe, Blarney, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 08.00hrs on Monday 20th June, 2022 to 18.00hrs on Friday 8th July, 2022 
(Daily Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Improvement Works.

Alternative Routes
Traffic from Inishcarra and Dromin, Cloghroe travelling to Vicarstown should detour and continue along the R579 until the yellow house at the Cross Roads.  There vehicles should turn right onto the L-6839 towards the L-2763.  At the junction with the L-2763, traffic should turn left and continue onto Vicarstown.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure

L-6798 (Fox’s Bridge to Matehy), Vicarstown, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 
From 08.00hrs on Monday 4th July, 2022 to 18.00hrs on Friday 22nd July, 2022 
(Daily Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Improvement Works.

Alternative Routes
Traffic from Courtbrack travelling to Matehy should turn left at Fox’s Bridge onto the Shournagh Line L-2764 and follow the road until Shournagh Cross Roads in Tower. There, vehicles should turn right onto the R617 and follow the road until the junction with the Kerry Road L- 2752.  Then, vehicles should turn right onto the L-2752 Kerry Road and continue until Vicarstown Cross Roads.  At the Cross Roads traffic should turn right onto the L-6797 and continue onto Matehy.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure
