The pontoon used to safely access the beach was badly damaged in the recent storms and there is no safe public access to this beach for the remainder of the bathing season. Please do not attempt to access the beach via the stream which the pontoon normally crosses as there can be very dangerous currents in this area.
Recent changes to the course of the Kilbrittain River mean there is now a dangerous channel cutting off safe access to the bathing area. At low tide this produces very strong current which could easily sweep swimmers out to sea. Heed warning signs and do not swim or undertake any aquatic activities at this beach.
