Macroom’s new state-of-the-art fire station has been officially opened by the Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Danny Collins and Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD.

Cork County Council has been successful in securing funding of €108,000 under the Waste Enforcement Regional Lead Authority (WERLA) Anti-Dumping Initiative 2022.  The funding will support 18 diverse projects that aim to tackle illegal dumping in Cork County.

Clonakilty International Guitar Festival returned for its 18th year this September 9th to 18th. For 10 days the town of Clonakilty became the stage, where small venues and re-imagined public spaces facilitated encounters with great music and great people.

Cork County Council’s Local Enterprise Office South Cork is inviting schools to sign up for this year’s Student Enterprise Programme.  Now in its 21st year, over 300,000 students have taken part in Ireland’s largest enterprise programme for second level students, learning how to create a business idea, before starting and growing their business.

Cork County Council has been awarded €100,000 to make Bandon a more vibrant and colourful town. The local authority is now seeking applications from the owners of commercial, residential and unoccupied buildings in the town.

Cork County Council Library and Arts Service has launched a pilot initiative that will see free sanitary products made available across its network of 29 branches and mobile libraries. The eco-friendly period products are being provided by Cork-based start-up We Are Riley.

The contracts have been formally signed for the upgrade works on the main N73 Mallow to Mitchelstown Road between Clogher Cross and Waterdyke. 

Cork County Council is inviting applications for the Creative Start-up Scheme. The Creative Start-up Scheme aims to support Artists, Designers, and Craftspeople to establish retail spaces in which to sell their work.
