Arts Funding Opportunities announced for Cork County in 2021

Cork County Council has announced details of its 2021 funding for the Arts. Within its general call for proposals, there are four strands available including the Arts Grant Scheme, the Artists in Schools Scheme and Irish Language Arts, as well as Artists’ Funding Schemes, which are open to solely to practicing artists and include the Artists’ Creative Bursary, International Touring and Exhibition, the Tyrone Guthrie Centre Bursary and the Ballinglen Arts Foundation Bursary.

History made in Macroom with record roads achievement

Seven precast concrete bridge beams, the longest ever for Ireland and the UK, measuring 49.9 metres in length, were placed over the River Laney as part of the N22 Baile Bhuirne to Macroom Road Development on the 15th and 16th of December.

Unsettled Weather and Highest Astronomical Tides for Cork – Update 15/12/2020 4.00PM

Met Eireann have issued a status Orange Wind Warning valid from 21.00 tonight, (Tuesday) to 09.00 tomorrow (Wednesday).  Due to high seas, as a result of high astronomical Spring Tides approaching Highest Astronomical Tide, and strong onshore winds, there is a risk of coastal flooding tonight and on Wednesday. Gale force southeast winds, veering southwest gusting 90 to 110km/h generally, higher in exposed areas, have been forecasted.
