€2.8 million Contract Signed to Examine Further Sections of the West Cork Greenway

Cork County Council has announced another significant milestone in the development of the West Cork Greenway with the appointment of RPS Consulting Engineers as technical advisors to progress a further 40km section of the greenway, including Crossbarry to Bandon, Bandon to Clonakilty and another section to Timoleague.

Statement from Cork County Council on €61.8m Allocation for National Roads, Active Travel and Greenway Projects

Cork County Council has welcomed the 2024 Grant Allocation of €61.8m announced for National Roads, Active Travel and Greenway Projects in County Cork. These include funding for the N73 Annakisha South Improvement Scheme, N72 West Pavement Improvement Schemes, Midleton to Youghal bypasses (Castlemartyr), Midleton to Youghal Greenway and Mallow to Dungarvan Greenway.

Cork County Council Approves Grants to Arts Organisations and Artists 2024

128 Artists and arts organisations are set to receive funding of over €166,000 from Cork County Council through its 2024 Arts Grants Scheme. Considering the scheme at their meeting on Monday February 12th Councillors noted that there has been a sharp rise in applications to the Arts Grants Scheme over the past two years.

2024 County Mayor’s Community Awards

Outstanding contributions made by individuals together with community and voluntary groups from across Cork County were highlighted at the 11th Annual Mayor’s Community Awards in Cork County Hall. The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Frank O’Flynn, presented a total of 11 awards on the night, with Theresa Hickey from West Cork winning the overall Individual award and The Fermoy International Choir, from North Cork, winning the overall Community Group award.

€83.2M Road Grant Allocation Announced for Cork County

Cork County Council has welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Transport of the 2024 Roads Grant allocations.  A total of €83,199,560 has been allocated by the Department of Transport in respect of the maintenance and improvement of regional and local roads in Cork County this year.

Waterford City and County Council with the support of Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Cork County Council, invite those who live in, work in or travel in and between Youghal and Dungarvan to participate in a non-statutory public consultation for the Youghal to Dungarvan Cycle Route Project.

Youghal to Dungarvan Cycle Route Public Consultation Now Open

Waterford City and County Council, with the support of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), Cork County Council and Technical Advisor, ROD-AECOM, is progressing the development of the Youghal to Dungarvan Cycle Route project.  The project aims to provide a safe, connected and inviting cycle route between Youghal and Dungarvan which will form part of the National Cycle Network (NCN).
