Outdoor Seating/Accessories for the Tourism & Hospitality Business Scheme
Online applications can now be made to Cork County Council for the Outdoor Seating & Accessories for Tourism & Hospitality Business Scheme.
Cork County Council is encouraging local hospitality and tourism providers to apply for grant funding under Fáilte Ireland’s new Outdoor Seating & Accessories Scheme aimed at assisting the sector in increasing their outdoor dining capacity.
Grants of up to €4,000 are available under the scheme to support hospitality businesses and facilitate outdoor dining for summer 2021. Individual tourism and hospitality businesses where food is sold for consumption on the premises including hotels, attractions, cafes, restaurants, and pubs are invited to apply for funding. The aim of the scheme is to expand on the work carried out by Cork County Council last year in supporting businesses and will support the continued enhancement of outdoor dining experiences across the County in a regulated and accessible manner.
Costs for outdoor tables, umbrellas, electric heaters, screens/windbreaks and outdoor plant stands will be covered under the Scheme. Expenditure must be incurred between April 1st, 2020 and September 30th, 2021.
A licence from Cork County Council is required to place tables, chairs and other structures in public places and is required for the use of public space as part of this scheme. The Section 254 licence is granted on an annual basis and the Council have simplified its terms and conditions and waived the fees during the Covid Pandemic.
