TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following roads for the period and reason specified below:
Roads Subject of Closure
R-880-0 Wolfe Tone Street, R-880-0 Ashe Street, R-880-0 Pearse Street, L-4036-1 Astna Street, L-4039-0 Rossa Street, L-4039-0 Connolly Street, Clonakilty, Co. Cork.
Period of Closure
From 07:00hrs to 22:00hrs (Daily Closure) on Saturday17th June 2023.
Varies for different Streets.
R-880-0 Wolfe Tone Street – From 11:00hrs to 18:00hrs.
R-880-0 Ashe Street, L-4036-1 Astna Street, L-4039-0 Rossa Street – From 07:00hrs to 18:00hrs.
R-880-0 Pearse Street – From 07:00hrs to 19:30hrs.
L-4039-0 Connolly Street – From 18:00hrs to 22:00hrs.
Reason for Closure
To facilitate Clonakilty Street Carnival.
Alternative Routes
The alternative route to West Cork from the east will be via N71 bypass.
The alternative route to Emmet Square from the east will be via N71 Bypass and Gaol Road.
Access to the town center from the west via Western Road, Oliver Plunkett Street, Bridge Street.

R-586, Knockane, Drimoleague, Co. Cork.
Period of Closure
From 07.00hrs on Monday 12th June 2023 to 17.00hrs on Thursday 29th June 2023. (24hr Closure)
Reason for Closure
To facilitate roadworks.
Alternative Routes
Travelling from Bantry to Drimoleague, turn onto the R-594 at Aughaville junction, travel through Caheragh and onto the R-593 at Derreeny Bridge, then travel the R-593 into Drimoleague.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

From 08:00hrs on Tuesday 30th May, 2023 to 18:00hrs on Wednesday 30th August, 2023 (24hr Closure).
Reason for Closure
To facilitate the Laying of a Watermain.
Alternative Routes
Travelling from Aghavine Cross on the L3815 towards Kilcraheen, pass the L-7854 (closed) to the right. At the next t-junction on the R633, turn right for Ladysbridge where you will pass the L-7853 (closed). Take the next road to the right (L-7851) and continue along until the next road on the right (L-7852) which leads back on to the L- 7853.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Alternative Routes
Continue southwards towards Rosscarbery on the N71. At the N71/ R597 junction, take the right onto R597 and continue to L-8320 junction.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Reason for Closure
To facilitate Installation of a New Watermain and Valves.
Alternative Routes
Travelling north turn left and take L-4037, Old Chapel Lane to R588. Turn right and continue to L-8060 junction. Turn right on to L-8060 (ESB Station Road) and travel east to rejoin L-4031. The reverse applies when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
