TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure

L3800-16 and L3800-0 Dungourney, Co. Cork (Dungourney to Leary’s Cross Road).

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 08:00hrs on Thursday 18th August 2022 to 18.00hrs on Friday 16th September 2022

(24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Road Surfacing Works.

Alternative Routes

Travelling from Leary’s Cross, turn right at Two Pot Cross, taking the L3601, R626, L7630, L9425 & R627 to re-join the L3800 in Dungourney.  

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.  

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below: 

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure

R907 (part of) Main Street, Midleton, Co. Cork – from its junction with the L9403-1 Hospital Road Junction with the L3621-0 Broderick Street, Midleton. 

R627 (part of) Connolly Street, Midleton, Co. Cork – from its junction with the R907 Main Street to its junction with Dickinson’s Lane, Midleton.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 06:00hrs to 20.00hrs (daily closure) on Sunday 4th September 2022.

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate FEAST Festival. 

Alternative Routes

Traffic travelling south along R626 take the L3288-0 and L3822-1 Northern Relief Road and onto N25.

Traffic travelling north along R630 take the N25 and onto the L3288-0 and L3822-1 Northern Relief Road.

Traffic Travelling north through Midleton Town divert at R907 Main Street onto L3621-0 Broderick Street, onto L3631-0 Riverside Way and rejoin the R907 at the Gyratory.

Traffic travelling south through Midleton Town divert at the Gyratory onto L3631-0 Riverside Way, L3621-0 Broderick Street and onto R907 Youghal Road.

Traffic travelling south along R627 from Dungourney take the L7630-0 at Broomfield East.  At Broomfield West take the R626 to travel north or L3822-1 and L3288-0 Northern Relief Road to join the N25. 

Traffic travelling south through Midleton Town from Dungourney divert onto Drury’s Ave. onto the L9403-1 The Green and onto the R907.  Continue on the R907 to join the N25 or take the L3631-0 Riverside Way to travel south west.

To facilitate The Michael Collins Commemoration.

Alternative Routes

Southbound traffic:  Follow the R-585 west to its junction with the L-2008 at Boxers Cross.  Follow the L-2008 south, across the L-2006 and onto the L-6013 into Newcestown village.  Take the L-2009 north east to the L-2011 at Mossgrove.

 

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-2057-0 (Part of), St. Patrick’s Quay, Bandon, Co. Cork – from its junction with Oliver Plunkett Street to its junction with Bridge Place/St. Patrick’s Hill (Phase 1).

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 07:00hrs on Monday 22nd August 2022 to 19:00hrs on Monday 26th September 2022. (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Pipeline Construction.

Alternative Routes

Town Centre Bound Traffic: Traffic intending to traverse St. Patrick’s Quay from St. Finbarr Place shall divert along McSwiney Quay and then Weir Street to the town centre. 

N71 Clonakilty Bound Traffic: Traffic intending to traverse St. Patrick’s Quay from  St. Finbarr Place shall divert east onto R586 Glasslinn Road, at the roundabout take the second road access to N71 Bandon Bypass, turn right onto the Kibrittain Road junction, then at the mini roundabout turn left onto the N71 west bound continuing towards Clonakilty. 

Access to Harte’s Car Park shall be maintained at all times. 

Bridge Lane shall be re-opened for traffic during the road closure.

No left turn shall be in operation at the Glasslinn Road Junction with St Finbarr Place.

Access from southbound St Finbarr Place traffic intending to access Oliver Plunkett Street shall be encouraged via Glasslinn Road and Station Road.

In order to facilitate free flowing traffic on McSwiney Quay, parking will be prohibited on McSwiney Quay for the duration of the road closure.

Alternative Routes

Traffic will be diverted along the L1203-14 toward Ballyhass, turning left onto the L1201-31 continuing on this route before turning left at the junction of the L1201-31 and the L5308-0 continuing to travel along the L5308-0.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 08.00hrs on Monday, 12th September 2022 to 17.00hrs on Friday, 16th September 2022 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the Construction of a Cattle Underpass, Effluent Holding Tank and Associated Works.

Alternative Routes

From Knuttery Junction of L-1219 and L-6950-0 (northern end of L6950-0): Travel north for approximately 3.5km to Beenaskehy, turn right onto L-1504 Lyravarrig – Beenaskehy Road. This road continues onto L-2956 at Lyravarrig. After approximately 7.5km, turn right, up the hill onto L29563 heading towards Badgers Hill. After approximately 1.4km turn right onto L6950-43. Diversion ends approximately 1.5km to the west at the junction with L-29561.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the Installation of a Cattle Underpass. 

Alternative Routes

Traffic will be diverted at Hallihan’s Cross, Liscarroll along the R522 to Bog Cross. Traffic will take a left onto the R578 and continue to Tarrant’s Cross and take a left onto L5462 and continue to the junction with L5467. 

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access may be given to dwellings on L5467 either side of road closure for access during works if required.

Alternative Routes

From Annsgrove, turn left onto the L-3605 and at next junction turn right onto the L-3004.  Take the next right onto the L-7000 and continue straight through the crossroads onto the L-6993. At the next crossroads, turn right on to the L-2966 and take the next right to join the L-2967.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
