Temporary Closing of Public Roads

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L5494 Helenas Bridge, Ballincolly Cross, Charleville, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs on Monday 5th December 2022 to 16.00hrs on Friday 16th December 2022. (Daily Closure only).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Removal of trees along Wastewater Treatment Plant boundary.

Alternative Routes

Traffic will be diverted along the R515-0 into Charleville and take a right onto the L1226-0 Old Limerick Road. Traffic will take a right onto the N20 Cork-Limerick Road and proceed to junction with L5494 at Helenas Bridge and take a right. End of Diversion.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access may be given to dwellings to North and South of road closure for access during works if required.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs from Thursday 1st December 2022 to Friday 2nd December 2022 (Daily Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Irish Water Wastewater Service Connections.

Alternative Routes

For traffic heading east, use parallel streets, King Street and/or Edward Street / Thomas Street adjacent.
