Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-2037-24 (Part), Church Hill, Innishannon, Co. Cork – from the N71 junction to Joan Bantry’s Cross. Works area to contain two phases above and below the recent surfacing area on Church Hill.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 09:00hrs on Thursday 16th February 2023 to 18:00hrs on Friday 24th February 2023 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Road Resurfacing on Church Hill.

Alternative Routes

Traffic intending to access the L-2037-24 from the N71 junction shall divert east along the N71-1060, N71-1065, N71-1066, at Farnahoe turn left onto L-2036-18, at Spreades Cross turn left onto L-2038-0, follow the road to approach the road closure from the opposite side. 

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access to the Estates and Church will be maintained throughout the duration of the road closure, except for when surfacing past each Estate junction.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-2-2023, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 25th January 2023.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L5660 (Section of), St. Anthony’s Road, Killally, Kilworth, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 09:00hrs to 14.00hrs (Daily Closure) on Friday 10th February 2023.

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate a crane lift adjacent to Telecom Exchange.

Alternative Routes

For traffic heading south, divert west via L-56601-0, south via L5702-14, east via R667, and north via short section of L-1419.  

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local Access will not be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
