Sam Maguire Cup - Knitted Replica 6th July to 31st August 2018

This year to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the presentation of the Sam Maguire Cup to the GAA, Dunmanway Library  Knit & Natter Group created a full size replica of the cup. They used a mixture of knitting, crochet and embroidery to create the detail on the cup. The cup is on display in the library window for the months of July and August along with all 32 handmade county colour flags. 


Visions of Half-light at Town Hall Gallery, Macroom July 7th – 28th

Visions of Half-light is an exhibition of art by Debbie Godsell, Fiona Kelly and Sarah O’Flaherty that opens at the Town Hall Gallery, Macroom, Co Cork at 7pm, Friday, July 6th and runs until Saturday, July 28th.


The project is supported by Cork County Council's Arts Office, which is committed to promoting professional artists’ exhibitions in rural venues such as Macroom Town Hall.


Reflect - An exhibition of new and old work by John Hales

The exhibition Reflect - a collection of new and old work by artist John Hales was formally opened last Friday 20th in LHQ  Gallery by the Deputy Mayor of Cork County, Cllr. Mary Linehan Foley.

John Hales, originally from Mallow, is a self taught painter in oils and acrylics.

The exhibition is a stunning collection of his early work, portraiture figurative work done in oils, and his latest work, large acrylic pieces with simple shapes, complex arrangements and bright colours.
