Cork County Age Friendly Alliance

The Cork Age Friendly County Programme is led by the Cork County Age Friendly Alliance, chaired by Mr Niall Healy, Director of Services, Cork County Council. The Alliance brings together senior leaders from the Gardaí, HSE, transport providers, voluntary organisations, third level institutions, individual leaders and members of Cork County Older People’s Council. All of these stakeholders share the vision of improving the quality of life for older people in County Cork.

In the current COVID-19 emergency, many of the stakeholders represented on the Age Friendly Alliance, have partnered with Cork County Council as part of the Council’s COVID-19 Community Support Programme.

Under this programme Cork County Council is working with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the needs of older people and more vulnerable people are met across the towns, villages and communities of County Cork during this COVID-19 crisis.

To access this support, Cork County Council has provided a dedicated Community Call Helpline which is a FREE contact number 1800 805 819 with lines open from 9.00am to 5:00pm seven days a week. Those calling from outside of Ireland seeking assistance for a relative or friend should call +353 21 4285517

Is comhchlár é seo ó Sláintecare agus Aoisbhá Éireann. Is clár dhá bhliain é, á rolladh amach ar fud naoi gceantar Údaráis Áitiúil. Tá sé mar aidhm ag an gclár arna mhaoiniú ag Sláintecare suas le 4,500 teach a bhaint amach ar fud naoi gceantar Údaráis Áitiúil thar an dá bhliain.

Is é sprioc an chláir ná tacú le daoine aosta fanacht ina gcónaí ina dtithe agus ina bpobail féin. Aithneofar riachtanais shuntasacha chúraim shóisialta sna daoine scothaosta seo agus atá i mbaol dul in ospidéal nó dul isteach roimh am i gcúram cónaithe fadtéarmach. Tá sé mar aidhm ag an gclár seo tacaíochtaí a dhíriú ar na daoine scothaosta seo i bhfoirm a ndálaí maireachtála a fheabhsú, chomh maith le rochtain ar thacaíochtaí leanúnacha sláinte agus cúraim shóisialta agus tacaíochtaí pobail oiriúnaithe a fheabhsú. Tacóidh na Comhordaitheoirí Áitiúla le daoine scothaosta agus lena dteaghlaigh na seirbhísí a aimsiú trí iad a nascadh go réamhghníomhach leis na tacaíochtaí agus na seirbhísí cuí.

Is é Anthony Holmes an Comhordaitheoir Áitiúil do Chontae Chorcaí agus beidh measúnuithe á ndéanamh aige leis na rannpháirtithe. Tá an Bróisiúr um  Thithe Aoisbháúla Folláine, agus an fhoirm Atreorúcháin um Thithe Aoisbháúla Folláine ar fáil le híoslódáil. Is féidir le duine ar bith atreoruithe a dhéanamh fad is a fhaightear toiliú na rannpháirtithe nó is féidir leis na rannpháirtithe atreorú don chlár a dhéanamh dóibh féin más mian leo. Tá físeán ar fáil chomh maith a thaispeánann Measúnú do Thithe Aoisbháúla Folláine.
