The Frank and Walters Announced for Outdoor Gig in Bandon

One of Cork’s most acclaimed pop groups, The Frank and Walters, will play a special outdoor show for over 200 people in Bandon on Sunday October 10th. Presented by Cork County Council in conjunction with The Good Room, The Frank and Walters will take to the stage on St Patrick’s Quay in the West Cork town as part of the Council’s Cork Co Co Pops Series, an expansive programme of events aimed at supporting performers and bringing live events to local communities.

Council’s Lifeguard Service respond to nearly 1000 incidents during Summer 2021

With 21 rescues, 23 lost children reunited with their families and 940 first aid incidents, 2021 was a busy lifeguard season across Cork County’s twelve beaches. A total of 39 full-time Beach Lifeguards raised their red and yellow flags during the first weekend in June and lowered them for the final time on September 12th.

‘Meitheal’ Commemorates Community Response to Covid 19

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Gillian Coughlan was joined by former Mayor Cllr. Ian Doyle, who held the office at the onset of Covid 19, to unveil a commemorative sculpture, ‘Meitheal’, which recognises the solidarity and support demonstrated by communities across the county. ‘Meitheal’ also symbolises the range of cooperation between voluntary organisations, local businesses and groups, and statutory bodies highlighted through Cork County Council’s Community Support Programme.

Gear up for the 2021 Fort2Fort Charity Cycle Sportive on Saturday, 23rd October.

The annual Fort2Fort Charity Cycle Sportive is back for 2021 and is celebrating its milestone 10th year. This year’s cycle will once again raise vital funds for the Mercy Hospital Foundation, four Cork City and County Lions Clubs and Camden Fort Meagher Restoration. Taking place on Saturday, October 23rd, registration has now opened online at the Mercy Hospital Foundation

“Tomorrow is Sunday” Exhibition at Macroom Town Hall

Tomorrow is Sunday, a photography exhibition by visual artist Miriam O’Connor has opened at Macroom Town Hall. The exhibition unpacks daily life on a County Cork farm and is part of Cork County Council’s Library and Arts Service annual programme in association with Macroom Area Visual Arts (MAVA).
