Midleton Arts Festival is going ahead!
JULY 16, 17 and 18, 2021.
This year the theme is “The Flow of the Wild”. The focus is on Art in the environment. We aim to encourage the community to remember and rekindle our wildness and wilderness!
There are many artists in Midleton. Issues surrounding our natural environment are very important to us and we are using our art to bring awareness of these issues to the local community. The focus is on outdoor, family friendly events. We have designed the events that can go ahead whether there are restrictions or not. (Check the website for any number restrictions or cancellations)
The festival opens in My Place at 7pm Friday night with a Fine Art Exhibition. "Variables", curated by Midleton artists Danny McCarthy and Roslin Treacy. It features the work of three professional local artists; Belinda Walsh, Tom Walsh, and John McHarg, who will also host workshops with Two Rivers Art Project by SECAD, on Saturday "Climate Aware Midleton" will have a stall in Saturday's farmers market which will feature decorations that show the beauty of the wild around us. Some lucky customers will find hidden tokens dispersed throughout stalls. Win a potted hazel tree to enhance your garden. Walk along the main street listening to the busking competition, or take part in wild themed workshops and walks.
