Culture & Creativity Strategy 2018-2022 launched at Creative County Cork Conference

The Creative County Cork Conference 2018, which took place in Baile Mhúirne recently, proved to be a most special two days. Opening with an address, as Gaeilge, by Cllr. Gobnait Moynihan, deputising on behalf of the Mayor of County Cork, Cllr. Patrick Gerard Murphy, the tone was perfectly set for the captivating talks and discussions to come.

Cork exhibition to recognise the role of reuse

AN exhibition featuring some of Cork and Ireland’s most imaginative and innovative upcyclers, reuse initiatives and eco businesses takes place at Cork County Hall on Wednesday October 31. Now in its second year, ‘Reuse Republic’ will showcase products made by organisations and individuals from end of life materials as well as initiatives encouraging reuse.  The exhibition is FREE to attend and members of the public are encouraged to come along.

The West Cork Fit-up Theatre Festival kicks off tonight with Noni Stapleton’s hilarious comedy Charolais

Supported by Cork County Council Arts and the Arts Council

A tale of love, longing and one woman’s intense rivalry with a Charolais heifer.
A surreal, black comedy, Charolais takes the age old story of female jealousy and gives it a new twist: the other woman is a cow, a literal one, a pure-bred Charolais heifer. Rarely in Irish theatre are the challenges of farming life and the joy of sex expressed so frankly.
