Bandon Primary Students Embrace FrameWorks Art Project

Fourth Class Pupils from Presentation Primary School, Bandon are currently participating in FrameWorks, an initiative of Cork County Council’s Creative Ireland Programme, which allows primary schools across Cork to become temporary custodians of the County Art Collection.

Funding Available for the Protection of County Cork’s Heritage

Cork County Council is inviting owners and custodians to apply for funding to safeguard protected structures and archaeological monuments in County Cork. Three funding streams have been announced for 2024, including the Community Monuments Fund, the Built Heritage Investment Scheme, and the Historic Structures Fund.

Cork County Council Presents ’Small Things Like These’

Cork County Council’s LHQ Gallery is excited to present a group exhibition titled ‘Small Things Like These’ aptly named after a novel by Claire Keegan, which is set in the mid 80s and looks at the weeks leading up to Christmas capturing the busyness of the season, the family traditions, and the complicit silences of a town.

Cork County Council were announced as the winner of the overall award for ‘Council Community Engagement’. Cork County Council Celebrate Success at this Year’s Pride of Place Awards

People from all corners of Ireland gathered in Armagh City Hotel on Friday last for this year’s highly anticipated Pride of Place awards.  Now in its 21st Year, the prestigious awards honour the remarkable contributions of individuals and community groups dedicated to improving their local communities.

The Cork and Kerry Inter-Agency Emergency Management Region South including An Garda Síochána, the Health Service Executive, Cork County Council, Cork City Council and South/Southwest Hospital Group are calling on the public to ‘Be Winter Ready’ this year. Included are Cllr. Frank O'Flynn, Mayor of the County of Cork and Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Kieran McCarthy.
